Abstract:
We present a framework for quantizing open systems. Starting from the classical stochastic dynamics governed by the Langevin and Fokker-Planck-Kolmogorov (FPK) equations, we derive a set of quantization rules for the FPK equation. It is shown that the resulting quantum dynamical equation is equivalent to the Gorini-Kossakowski-Sudarshan-Lindblad (GKSL) quantum master equation. The consistency of the quantization procedure is established by demonstrating that the GKSL equation reduces to the classical FPK equation in the semiclassical limit.
