Abstract: In this Lecture we discussed the properties of a single quantum bit. We introduced notations for some states on a qubit, discussed the meaning of the Bloch ball, defined Pauli observables and basic unitary operations on a single qubit, and mentioned some irreversible operations on a qubit.
