Abstract: I will tell about logarithmic algebras and related quantum groups. In quantum group terms, one can describe the representation of a modular group on the space of characters. Besides all this, I will tell about the connection of characters with invariants of 3-dimensional manifolds. This relation was relatively recently discovered and so far very poorly understood.
