Quantum cryptography protocols based on coherent states and eavesdropping strategies

D. A. Kronberg

Abstract: Quantum key distribution security is based on the fact that one can not get full information from the set of non-orthogonal quantum states. As an important example of such states, coherent states are of high interest, since weak laser pulses are easy for practical implementation. These states and fiber lines with losses used by legitimate users give an eavesdropper new attack opportunities.
