Аннотация: We give a review of the current state of the theory of factorization of ordinary and partial differential operators and even more generally, of systems of linear differential equations. The main part of the talk will be devoted to modern generalizations of the factorization theory based on some constructions from the ring theory, theory of partially ordered sets (lattices) and that of abelian categories.
