Abstract: A high-order accurate method is proposed for analyzing the isothermal rarefied gas flow in an infinitely long channel with an arbitrarily shaped cross section (Poiseuille flow). The basic idea behind the method is the use of hybrid unstructured meshes in physical space and the application of a conservative technique for computing the gas velocity. Examples of calculations are provided for channels of various cross sections in a wide range of Knudsen numbers. Schemes of the first-, second-, and third orders of accuracy in space are compared.
