Fast automatic differentiation technique and control of thermal dynamical systems

Abstract: The fast automatic differentiation technique and its advantages as applied to the numerical solution of optimal control problems are described. Results obtained by applying this technique to the optimal control of thermal processes with phase transitions are presented.
