Abstract: Models of boundary conditions on the surface of a body for rarefied molecular gas taking into account the rotational energy are investigated. A comparison of the temperature fields for the case of the flow past bodies is performed by the supersonic flow of a gas at incomplete energy accommodation on the surface and at various degrees of exchange of the rotational and translational energies. The influence of the intensity of exchange on the gas flow depending on the rarefaction parameter, the free-stream velocity, and the surface temperature is shown.

Key words: kinetic equation, method of discrete velocities, boundary condition for gases with rotational degrees of freedom, gas–surface interaction.
