Remote visualization of large data sets

Abstract: Computing power and hardware specifications of personal computing devices often cannot provide adequate performance to ensure the visualization of large amounts of data. Such data sets can be provided as results of various supercomputing experiments. To ensure a transparent and user-friendly access to such data one can use remote visualization approach. Remote visualization concept determines that the client is used only to display information from one or more remote visualization servers. This paper discusses types of the remote visualization technology used to provide interaction between client applications and remote servers, different ways of solving the problem of the remote visualization.
