Abstract: The plane problem of origination of a circular elastic inclusion (region with other properties) in a pre-loaded infinite isotropic elastic body is solved using an approximate analytical technique. The problem is formulated on the foundation of the theory of repeated superposition of large deformations. The Newton–Kantorovich method is used for solution. The solution of linearized problems is found using the complex variable theory.

Keywords: nonlinear elasticity, finite strains, plane problem, elastic inclusions, the Newton–Kantorovich method.
