Abstract: The article presents the main stages of scientific activity of an outstanding Soviet mathematician and mechanic, Academician Nikolai Nikolaevich Yanenko, graduate of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Tomsk University, Honored Activist of Socialist Labor, winner of three USSR State Prizes.
