Abstract: This work presents main stages of the scientific activity of Valentina Gavrilovna Pryazhinskaya, the alumnus of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, Tomsk State University, Honored Scientist of Russian Federation, the founder of the new scientific direction of optimization of water use and planning of water protection activities.
