About the first center of higher mathematical education in Siberia

Abstract: The paper is dedicated to the main stages of developing a training system specialists with higher mathematical education for the Siberian region at the Physics and Mathematics faculty of the Tomsk University from the year 1917 are given. A significant contribution to the developing of this system was made by F. E. Molin, N. N. Goryachev, V. L. Nekrasov, L. A. Vishnevsky, N. P. Romanov, F. M. Neter, N. N. Yanenko, P. P. Koufarev et al. Since the beginning of the last century, Tomsk has been preparing specialists in mathematics, mechanics, astronomy and applied mathematics.
