Abstract: This article examines relationship among the physical index properties of frozen soils and compares it with the known approximate equations. The relationship obtained can be used to predict relative gas content, specific retention, degree of saturation with unfrozen water and ice, and porosity of soil from soil moisture content and densities of soil components. It is shown that this relationship can be graphically presented for thawed and frozen soils.

Keywords: frozen soil, temperature dependence, physical properties, unfrozen water, gas content, porosity, specific retention.
