Boundary problem for radiation transfer through plane layer

Abstract: A special statement of the problem of radiation transfer through plane layer, called boundary problem, is considered. It was proposed first by Ambartsumian. An operatormatrix made up of the layer reflection and transmittance operators is introduced. A “layer addition” theorem is proved. Application examples are considered.
