Rotation of isosceles tetrahedron in central Newtonian force field: Staude cone

Abstract: The Staude cone is considered in the problem of motion of a homogeneous equilateral tetrahedron in a central force field. The character of the degeneracy of the Staude cone is studied in the case when an equilateral tetrahedron is close to a regular one. It is shown how the equation of the Staude cone can be obtained in the framework of Routh theory.
