Representations of Lie algebras in positive characteristic

Abstract: We announce some results on irreducible representations of finite dimensional restricted Lie algebras over algebraically closed fields. We prove that every irreducible representation of a restricted Lie algebra can be built using irreducible representations of some solvable Lie algebras and of central extensions of simple Lie algebras. We give some applications of this result.
