Line-of-sight guidance control using video images

Abstract: In this paper we propose a mathematical formulation of the line-of-sight control problem when this line is directed at a target. An operator located on a movable base controls the line of sight on the basis of the information received from the video images. In the problem, the functionals determining the quality of control by the operator are introduced. It is proved that, in the case of plane motion of the base and an infinitely distant target, the problem has a saddle point.
