Abstract: We have developed an algorithm, a set of parallel programs for the seismic wave field simulation and have carried out a number of test computations on clusters of the Siberian Supercomputer Center (SB RAS) in order to choose an optimal parallel scheme. The mathematical modeling of elastic wave propagation from a point source in the 3D-models of elastic media, characteristic of mud volcanoes, was performed. Some results of processing the data from the vibroseismic experiments on the “Karabetov Mountain” mud volcano are discussed. The results of numerical and natural experiments are compared.

Keywords: 3D modeling; a set of parallel programs; seismic fields; elastic medium; mud volcano.
