Mathematical model of the process of using carrying and lifting machines at the construction site

Abstract: The paper considers the problem of forming a mathematical model describing the loss and expenses arising during the operation of carrying and lifting machines and mechanisms during construction works. The process of formalization of this problem is based on the author’s made before classification system of the factors determining the process of operation of the carrying and lifting machines. There were determined twelve terms, each of which describes the losses associated with one of the components of the model and covering all the stages of work with carrying and lifting machines, ranging from its delivery to the construction site to its dismantling after construction. As a part of the constructed model the task of minimizing the total losses associated with the process of exploitation of the carrying and lifting machines was set. The target function is a function of total losses related to the operation of the carrying and lifting machines. For practical implementation of the resulting optimization problem it is necessary to present and justify a particular type of nineteen private functions included in the objective function, to describe the procedure for the collection and preparation of input data required for the practical solution of the task and to choose the algorithm for solving the problem. The procedure for solving the above task may become a part of the automated process control system of the construction work.
