Abstract: The paper presents the task of minimizing the total losses associated with ensuring the protection of the object of protection with a view to safeguarding the values, which are at the site, and to protect it from malicious or other destructive actions. Five sources of losses associated with the work of the security group are identified. The mathematical models that describe the characteristics of protection associated with the work of the security team and the functioning of the technical means of protection are designed. They reflect the dependences of the parameters of the protection on a wide range of different types of factors. The relations for the loss function concerning coping with the outer perimeter intruder protection and penetration to the material values of the facility protection are obtained. Scales of measuring the levels of reliability and qualification of the employees of the security group in terms of the requirements of the protection of the object are introduced. On the basis of heuristic methods, two possible kinds of functions introduced during the construction of loss functions are analyzed, and the constants in these functions are evaluated. The expressions for the various probabilities associated with the protection of the object are of interest themselves. The task of minimizing the losses associated with the provision of security activities at the facility protection to prevent malicious acts is formalized. The mathematical model to ensure the protection of the object can be used in the automated systems for the protection of the object.
