Abstract:
The role of university sites in information support of various directions of their activity including educational and scientific is shown. From the positions of information security the general characteristic of service conditions for university sites, including information filling of sites, usage of equipment and software and communication channels is given. The two-level classification of university sites functions is offered. The reasons and the main sources of information security threats for university sites are characterized. The structure of intra- and extra university information security threats for university sites, the methods of prevention and protection against them, the possible combinations of various methods are considered in detail. The questions of motivation of hacker attacks to university sites, the necessary skill levels of people carrying out such attacks, the methods of attacks realization are also studied. The opportunities and restrictions of some software, allowing providing automatic and/or manual monitoring of information security of university sites are analyzed.
