Abstract:
The questions related to tacheometer application for solution of measurement tasks in ship-building are considered, this leads to enhancement of the work quality while accomplishing assem-bling and technical operations during the ship assembly. The study presents the characteristics and describes the functions and capabilities of Japaneses electronic tachometer Sokkia. The requested methods of determination and setting up basic, local and objective coordinate systems, used in the measurement process in order to control the position of objects. It is proved that the application of tacheometers in shipbuilding improves the quality of the output, labor productivity and also the competitiveness of shipyards. The necessity of instructions on modern three-dimensional measure-ment system use and software development for rapid accomplishment of measurements during manufacture, exploitation and repairing of ships and vessels.
