Abstract:
Various wireless technologies — 3G, IEEE 802.11 and LTE are currently used in wireless net-works. An effective switching algorithm is required for movement in heterogeneous wireless network without breaking the connection. In the proposed algorithm, we use some significant parameters: the level of the signal strength (RSS), the speed of the mobile node, load of the base station. The algorithm includes three main components: data collection, data normalization and decision to switch. The algorithm can be used with an unlimited number of criteria for selecting a wireless network, such as bandwidth, delay level, reliability, etc.
