Abstract:
The theory of interaction of optical pulses in a nonlinear medium was developed with an account of the weak detuning of group velocities and their dispersion. The dynamics of propagation and reflection was numerically modelled. Geometrical optics for determining the signal pulse trajectories was developed. Total internal reflection conditions for nonlinear media were obtained.
Keywords:nonlinear medium, cubic nonlinearity, decompression of pulses, detuning of group velocities.
