Coherent artefact in anharmonic oscillator in connection with the femtosecond pump–probe experiments

Abstract: Coherent artefact observed in the pump–probe experiment consists in the fact that the absorption of the weak probe laser pulse changes not only at its positive delay with respect to the strong pump pulse, but also at a negative delay. This effect is analyzed for the anharmonic oscillator modelling the molecule vibration.
