Abstract:
The problem of aerosol sampling from a high-speed flow into a thin-walled tube is considered. The velocity field of air flow is found using Boundary Element and Finite Volume methods within the potential and viscous flow of incompressible fluid models. The aspiration efficiency in the case of high ratio of wind and sampling velocities is studied. Curves of dependence of the aspiration efficiency on the Stokes number and velocities ratio are plotted. The comparison with experimental results and approximate formulas is given.
