The effect of photodetector dead time in the study of intensity correlation functions for pulsed radiation

Abstract: The paper deals with the effect of photodetector dead time in the measurement of intensity correlation functions (ICF) for pulsed radiation in the photon-counting regime. Theoretically and experimentally, it is shown that the effect leads to a considerable narrowing of the measured intensity correlation function.
