Abstract: In the given work, the possibility for application of the nanomodified adhesive composition (NAC) in aircraft structures is investigated. It is shown by computer modeling with the quantum mechanics method that open edged carbon nanotubes are an effective additive for increasing of the shear mechanical parameters of the adhesive composition based on the epoxy matrix. It is found by the method of nanoindentation that addition of carbon nanotubes into the adhesive composition increases its reduced modulus of elasticity by 20–25 %. It is experimentally demonstrated that application of NAC in bolted joints increases their strength by 18 % and fatigue life up to 4 times.

Keywords: modeling, composite materials, nanomodified adhesive composition, nanotubes, nanoindentation, strength, bolted joints.
