Institute of Applied Mechanics RAS, Moscow

Abstract: The electrorheological properties of a new class of “smart materials”, electrorheological suspensions based on nano-sized polymer particles of polyimides, are discussed in the paper. The investigations are performed in a wide range of shear deformation speeds and at different temperatures. The obtained results open up prospects for widespread practical use of this class of electrorheological suspensions.

Keywords: polyimides, nanoparticles, electrorheological properties, electrorheological suspensions, flow curves.
