A string proximity-based approach to result ranking for terminological search

Abstract: In this article, a modification of the full-text approach to information retrieval is carried out by using semantic information about technical terms in text. The question of choosing a ranking metric for this type of search is raised. Several existing ranking metrics are discussed, and a new metric is proposed, which uses the features of terminological information retrieval. The proposed ranking metrics are experimentally compared, and the efficiency of the search system itself is estimated.
