Arbitrary Bending of a Cantilever Beam by a Conservative Force

Abstract: In this article, a further development of our approximate method for analysis of the arbitrary elastic bending of a beam by forces constant in space is presented. The bending of the cantilever by the concentrated gravity load on its end is considered. A numerically exact solution for ten values of the conservative load is obtained and compared with the similar approximate solution. The bending of the cantilever makes 0.8 of its length. A sufficient accuracy of the results for engineering calculations is observed.
