On Error Estimates for a Variant of the Mixed Finite Element Method

Abstract: The mixed finite element method for the second order quasilinear elliptic problems with a strongly monotone and locally Lipschitz continuous operator is investigated. The error estimates are obtained in the case when the gradient of the required solution is chosen as an auxiliary variable in the construction of the mixed finite element method.
