Abstract:
The results of investigations of the influence of the magnetic field on magnetically active cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) have been brought in the paper. It has been shown that due to the external magnetic field some displacement of Bragg reflection range takes place. It has also been shown that in CLC in the magnetic field unreversibility ol polarization rotation plane and of circular dichroism exists. The role of the dielectric boundaries and the light propīgation problem through the three-layer CLC cell in a magnetic field has been considered. It has been shown that in Bragg range the presence of the dielectric boundaries brings a decrement of the reflection magnitude, while off this range the reflection increases.
