Abstract: The properties of excimer molecules and the processes in which they participate are analyzed. The parameters of the potential curves of excimer molecules and the characteristics of the radiative transitions involved in their decay are presented. The formation of excimer molecules in chemical reactions and three-body collisions as well as collision quenching of excimer molecules are examined. The information presented mainly concerns excimer molecules consisting of two inert gas atoms or an inert gas atom and a halogen atom.
