À brief review is given of the results presented at the International conference “Phase transitions, critical and nonlinear phenomena in condensed media” that was held on 12–15 September 2007 at the RAS Daghestan Science Center's Institute of Physics and in the framework of which the VIII International seminar Magnetic phase transitions was conducted.
