Abstract: The experimental data on the viscosity of liquid argon, carbon tetrachloride, benzene, dodecane, octadecane, and carbon dioxide and the Fulcher–Tammann formula are used to calculate the viscosity of these liquids on the melting line and its metastable continuation into the region of extended states of coexisting phases. For normally melting substances, the melt grows more viscous with temperature, which can lead to the vitrification of the liquid in the high-temperature segment of the equilibrium line.
