Abstract:
A computational model of unsteady-state two-fluid flow is proposed on the basis of a set of momentum and continuity equations, which corresponds to one-dimensional flow of a gas-liquid mixture with barotropic components. The model takes into account the Zuber-Findlay relation [1] and includes solutions to the Cauchy problem that are close to the solutions to the drift model. The associated-mass effect on solutions to the characteristic equation corresponding to this model is investigated. It is shown that the associated-mass effect has a pronounced impact on the acoustic characteristics of the set of equations.
