The problem of the equation of state of refractory metals in the near-critical region

Abstract: A simple physical model of atomic plasma is proposed, which makes it possible to calculate the equation of state of refractory metals in the near-critical region and obtain the parameters of the critical point of the vapor–liquid phase transition, including the binodal. A special feature of the model is that it takes into account interatomic interaction using cohesion—the collective energy of the cohesion of atoms in a metal. Estimates of the critical point parameters for many refractory metals, including the conductivity at the critical point, are obtained.
