Experimental investigation of processes of melting-solidification of heat storage materials

Abstract: Description is given of the test bed and experimental procedure for studying the processes of melting-solidification of heat storage materials (HSM). Experimental data are given, obtained under conditions of melting of cylindrical samples of four HSMs heated from above, namely, paraffin, lauric and stearic fatty acids, and trihydric sodium acetate. Based on the results of theoretical investigations, a calculation formula is suggested which exhibits good agreement with experiment.
