On busy period in the queueing systems with vacations

Abstract: The paper is concerned with the class of queuing systems with vacations. For the busy period of such a queue, we estimate, with explicit constants, the probabilities of large deviations. For the case of regularly varying tails of service times, the asymptotics of the busy period is found. Statistical methods of estimation of the resulting parameters are presented.
