Abstract: The paper deals with the comparison of asymptotic behaviour of the binomial $\operatorname{Bi}(n,p)$ and Poisson $\Pi(\lambda)$ distributions as $n\to\infty$, $p\to\infty$ and $\lambda=np\to\infty$ in the domain of large deviations.
