Photocounts in the system “source–field–detector”

Abstract: In the framework of the “event enhanced quantum theory”, we consider the photocount statistics for a quantized mode in the presence of an equilibrium source, a classical harmonic current, and a detector. The characteristic function of the photocount distribution is obtained under equilibrium conditions. The photocount distribution is found in the absence of the current and the detector. Glauber's conditional probabilities for random processes leading to the detection of a fixed number of photons are considered on the $\alpha$ plane.
