Bosonization of the $\text{QCD}_2$ Hamiltonian and the vacuum problem

Abstract: A bosonization of the Hamiltonian formulation of $\text{QCD}_2$ in the Coulomb gauge is obtained for a bounded space and corresponding periodic boundary conditions. The formalism is applied to the problem of the $\text{QCD}_2$ vacuum in the framework of the variational approximation.
