Abstract:
In the framework of the modified nonlinear Schrödinger equation it is shown that one
of the mechanisms ensuring the existence of stable multidimensional solitons is nonlocality
of nonlinear interaction. Degeneracy of the quasiparticle dispersion law has
an analogous effect on the stability of non-one-dimensional solitons.
