Hidden symmetries of Kaluza–Klein theories

Abstract: It is shown that introduction of dynamical torsion in Kaluza–Klein theories makes is possible to increase the number of gauge fields extracted from the Lagrangian without increasing the number of extra dimensions. An example of spontaneous compactification of the model investigated is considered.
