Quantum fluctuations and the structure of particles in a field-theory model

Abstract: A model of a nonrelativistic particle in a potential field that takes into account the quantum fluctuations in the particle coordinate due to its interaction with a cloud of virtual quanta is studied. The ground-state energy level in this model is calculated and scattering problems are considered. The investigation does not presuppose a small interaction.
