Quantum theory of channeling. Contribution to the transport coefficient due to coupling between channeled particles and the lattice

Abstract: Theory describing the channeling of particles is formulated on the basis of the quantum theory of transport phenomena. The phonon scattering by the channeled particles is taken into account. Our approach is based on the following points: 1) model for channeled particle (planar case), 2) definitions of the rate of dechanneling, 3) basic transport equation which is obtained by means of the Green function method. The effect of successive collisions of particles with the atoms of channel is considered. The discrete structure of the lattice is taken into account. The process of population of the low above-barrier state is considered as a step-by-step excitation through many intermediate states, many phonons being involved in the whole excitation process.
