Connection between the sine-Gordon model and the massive bose thirring model

Abstract: In the framework of the quantum inverse scattering technique connections are established between the sine-Gordon model and the massive Bose Thirring model. The classical significance of the vacuum filling in the sine-Gordon model is elucidated.
