Abstract:
For the example of a simple model, a study is made of the dynamics of an order-disorder ferroelectric with allowance for retardation effects. It is shown that the spectrum of such ferroelectrics contains excitations that are a “mixture” of the ferroelectric branch and photons (the so-called polariton states). The excitation spectrum and its damping is analyzed, and the consequences of allowing for retardation effects and their possible experimental verification are discussed.
